The Les Flamants Roses hotel is in an amazing location - it stands delicately poised on the beach and offers a wonderful view over the foothills of the Pyrenees,
but is also next to the Canet-en-Roussillon lake natural reserve. This protected area offers you the chance to explore
ts unique fauna and flora, there are authentic fishermen’s huts
and you can watch the best-known local inhabitants - the pink flamingos!
It’s easy to find a variety of ways of having seaside fun in the department - with more than 40 kilometres of coastline, there are plenty of beaches. From the enormous expanses of sand in Canet-en-Roussillon and Saint-Cyprien to the rocky creeks nearer the border (Banyuls, Port-Vendres, etc.) not forgetting the Racou d’Argelès and its typical Mediterranean seafront fishermen’s houses - you’re spoilt for choice!
For a simple lunch beside the swimming pool, L’Effet Mer - planchas, dishes of the day, copious salads and fruity desserts… If you’d like to take your time, enjoy the view and look at the seafront, L’Horizon offers a more elaborate menu but it still fits in with Mediterranean cuisine using fresh produce and 100% southern flavours. It’s the perfect opportunity to check out the chef’s specialities and see how the seasonal menu changes in a hotel restaurant opposite the sea.

We usually go to the Atlantic coast, even for thalassotherapy, but we fancied somewhere hotter, with brighter sunshine, so we allowed ourselves to be tempted by a holiday opposite the Mediterranean Sea. The Les Flamants Roses hotel has the advantage of being right on the beach - the sea’s just a stone’s throw away and the environment’s still well-protected. That’s not all, it offers a whole load of high quality services. During our stay, we tried out the restaurant, the spa, the swimming pool, etc. All of the staff are really nice and really cared about making sure everyone was comfortable. So, fairly obviously, we fell under the place’s spell. I’m afraid we’re going to be unfaithful to the ocean and from now on it’s the seaside and the South for us!
